Drake is no longer "independent", signs with Young Money.

Very Disappointing.
Now I do not know why he would do this, Universal is a label that pushes albums back, and sometimes has their own agenda as to generating mainstream songs a big part of their projects to precipitate sales. This could be good or bad, maybe pushing Drake's album up closer, or at the same time taking away his own "independent" creativity. I guess since Drake had torn his ACL prior to the BET awards, his stock of his performance went down, but if you check my earlier posts, HE ABSOLUTELY KILLS IT. Maybe he thought this was the right time to sign, but I think that this was a poor choice of actions. Drake was kind of the light, and embodied that artists do not need to conform to getting signed to a label. He was one of the new Freshmen of 2009, that showed the world that the internet is a powerful tool. Look at Wiz Khalifa, he's really one of the few left that are totally independent doing appearances, replying to fans, and doing work on his own. Drake was doing all of that and was supposed to be the first to sell over a million independently. Big up to Drake and his crew though, no hatin here. Much respect. Signing to Young Money/Cash Money Universal was a very premature move in my eyes. I hope it works out.
